Hello there!
Hello there!
Hello there!
My name's Kim Siew. I'm an artist and educator living in Sydney, Australia.

I tell stories through mural art and illustration, full of quirky, playful characters that bring a little smile to your day.
Alongside my mural and illustration work, I teach workshops in story building.
Participants are guided through the creation of their own stories using techniques such as zine making, puppet making and book binding.
Take a look at the classes I teach here.

Oh, I'm also a lover of stationary and craft.
You can find and purchase my paper puppets, stationary, zines and other fun merchandise online at my
Etsy shop Akisiew.

THINGS WE MISS

Hello there,
In 2020, we made a little project called Things We Miss where we recreated a kitchen space at Thirning Villa in Ashfield and invited community to help us prepare labour intensive dishes over a number of days in the lead up to a communal feast.

We wanted to celebrate the process of preparation, the experimentation, collaboration, the making and remaking of collective culinary creation and the memory of past moments shared within the heart of the home.

Until we can meet in person, we are hoping we can still make together, reimagine, personalise and share.
From our kitchen to yours we have compiled the original recipes we made together into a limited edition zine, along with some news ones that we hope to cook with you once we are able to gather safely again.
We have 250 copies of this zine that we are looking forward to posting out to you. It's been made to encourage a sense of play and to hopefully provide a sense of comfort and connection during this time.
If you would like to receive one of our printed zines, please fill out the form below. Once the printed zine becomes unavailable, we will send out a link to a digital version. With thanks.

This work was made on the lands of the Gadigal and Wangal people of the Eora Nation.
Sovereignty was never ceded.

Thank you to Inner West Council for their support with this project.
